Spondon & District Off Road Club is a Derbyshire based 4×4 club, with members from across the Midlands region. Our members participate in Treasure Hunt and Gymkhana type off-road events in a relaxed, family friendly  but marshal controlled environment. We have various types of cane trial sections at our events, with other non-competitive sections for new members and novice drivers to try. We try to cater for all types of 4 wheel drive vehicles (sorry, no quad bikes). Road legal and trailered vehicles are welcome at our events, but all vehicles must meet minimum scrutineering requirements (no scrap yard specials!). Under 14’s are also allowed to drive when accompanied by an over 18 full licence holder, subject to signed parental consent.

We encourage 4×4 owners to utilise the full potential of their own vehicle, ensuring maximum adventure and fun. We hold regular offroading days/weekends ( at various sites around the Midlands area, with one or two trips further afield throughout the year.

If you’re an experienced off roader who doesn’t want the expense and competition of full blown challenge events, or a complete novice who is looking to pick someone’s brains about why something broke or how to fix it, why not give us a try? Take a look around our site, our FAQ’s section should answer all your questions, but if you need any further information, or want to join our club, please contact our Club Secretary Trevor Harrison, using the contact form, or call mobile 07976 586812 (no calls after 9pm please!),  who will be pleased to help you.

For a great dirty weekend, Spondon Off Road, your local 4×4 club!

Hi All,

Glad to see the club awakening from its winter slumber! I’m really looking forward to the new sites and the new year of 4×4. The software that powers our website is now getting a little long in the tooth and requires updating. Please bear with me over the next few days if any of the features or pages go missing.

Regards

Mark

Edit:

The Back end software has been updated. There are real improvements, especially in image handling, you can now upload multiple images at once, and just click one button to make those images into a gallery. Tutorial to follow.

I will update the forum tomorrow. If anyone notices a page acting strangely, please add it to the comments below and I’ll have a look at it.

Mark

Edit to edit:

The forum has been updated too. I have to make the styles match together, but it works much better than the old one especially with pictures. Have a go, see what you think.

We thought we’d all have trouble getting this on the drive and as for pressure washing mud off you’d probably have to get very friendly with the local fire station guys?

It’s not that I don’t look under here very often but whilst crawling around underneath I decided that a certain amount of repainting is required.

Suppose 5 years worth of events hasn’t helped but there is no deep corrosion so should be easy to clean up and paint.
