Despite the low turnout, we had a good day at this new site (new to most people anyway!). Saturday’s working party kept people busy opening up the site, although their is still more to do. Thanks to those who gave their time to help with this.
Sunday went well, despite the light rainfall overnight, which made getting onto the site a challenge in itself! We kept the punches out of this one due to the condition of the site, and the few ready made trail sections proved hard work for all who attended! With a little more work, we have a great site for setting up time trails, but think it would be a far better summer site!
The down side of the weekend was that a visitor to the event had his car badly damaged by an unkown party on the parking area on Sunday. I think that someone has come in to the site, run into the car, and has then left without reporting it to anyone. I sincerely hope it is not another club member, and is a member of the public. The vehicle was left with a badly damaged tailgate, smashed rear window and very slight damage to the off side rear quarter panel, and what would seem to be a hefty repair bill! As the site owner has security cameras looking over the entrance, the footage is being reviewed to see if the culprit has been caught on cctv. If anyone has information about this incident please get in touch with me.

Yes blakey i totally agree. this site is most definitely one of the most promising sites we have. i loved it, in fact i am starting to build a hill climbing jeep especially to try and beat ako the pikey. So it will have to be a bloody good one, as ako`s suzuki was amazing, Even when the silly t**t rolled it over with me in it. I was holding the grab bar on his dash board so tight i pulled the bloody thing off, Complete with the dash board. and when chevy chris said i am going up there pointing to a very large bush, that was covering the driveway to a mountain goats house, i thought NO WAY. But as always he did it, i tried walking up it but gave up when i turned purple and started gasping for air.
Maybe in the summer this track will be a perfect event for one of byrons trial things ??
And hats off to reg morgan for having a go in a shiny one.. and also to all the other shinys who didn’t really get very far.
YET AGAIN AS ALWAYS TO ALL THOSE WHO DID NOT TURN UP YOU MISSED A GOOD UN.

i had a great weekend.
big thanks to Donk & Shrek for getting me and my jeep there on Saturday and Blakey for picking me up and bringing my jeep back on Sunday
1st thoughts on the site were, jesus thats steeeeep but i was amazed at how well i got up. its the 1st time i`ve tried bit hills since fitting the 1600 engine and 410 T/Box. although the T/Box didnt last long as i smashed the case following Chris over a 5ft wall. so had to fit a 413 T/Box Sunday morning.
managed to coax 3 peeps into the passenger seat (cant think why people are so reluctant to sit with me lol)
highlights of the weekend were, driving up the hill next to Doormouse`s grave, Nigel told me they used to drive up it all the time, but it was that over grown the track was almost invisible, and the last few meters i just clung onto the steering wheel and prayed and had the biggest grin when we emerged at the top. and getting up that big hill with Shrek clinging onto the grab bar. pure classic

We knew you lot would rave about this place, in the 90′s when we were last there it was our favourite site and rarely failed to have a brilliant weekend.
After the effort Alex put in with his digger (for 6 hours non-stop)!!, I think it’s even better than it used to be.
It was unfortunate that it rained a bit on Saturday night which did cause some difficulties for some but by far the damage done to the Fiesta in the lower car park really did put a dampener on things.

Calla it relates to Trevor’s third paragraph at top of page (Trev didn’t state what make of car it was), I reckon looking at how high up the damage was that something along the lines of a transit tipper backed into it, and then left the scene?

I know parking was very tight but The cars should not have been parked so far away from where we were. Sadly in todays society some people cannot be trusted. Its just a shame they did not have the balls to own up. I just hope it did not leave the fiesta owner out of pocket!!!!.
