The format of the comp will be simple. You turn up in what ever you want and we will put you in a suitable class. Each class as a chance to win a trophy and there will be a prize for the most outstanding team weather they win a trophy or not. There will punches out on site 30 in all with diffrent grades of diffculty. You will receive a punch card that as coloured numbers on it. Each colour refers to the difficulty of the punch. E.g Red = very difficult. Green= easy. There will be at least three special stages that all vehicles can do. Steve LLoyd may also set up a couple of stages as well but that is yet to be confirmed. The emphases will be on fun and good sportsmanship. We will be at shottle for the weekend, but Saturday the marshalls and orginizers will be the only ones allowed on site for setting out and Sunday the 15th for the challenge.
SEE YOU THERE …………IF YOU DARE ????
Hi guys, take a look at the trophies and medals for shottle. If you want to take 1 of these beauties home, you gotta work for it!! These should be in the club, so make it happen!!
The team that shows the best ‘team spirit’ as judged by the event officials on the day will also win this genuine ‘Snap On’ beer fridge, (courtesy of Brian Machin from Stoke), complete with ice cold beer of course!
GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL, AND HAVE A GOOD FUN EVENT!!

Guys are we sure we can afford not to open the site on Saturday from a financial and driving/offroading point of view?
It normally only takes an hour or so to hang the punches and some good
sections can be caned up at the same time, so why all day Saturday?
The last event was advertised as extreme etc which may have put people off
a bit, I just hope people aren’t put off going to Shottle because of being
funneled into sections etc that they would normally choose to avoid for
whatever reason.
I am dead keen to get out there on Sat. morning and get the mud moving
along with other members but have to say not so keen if the entire day
is earmarked just for setting up.

Chris read again, where is the word extreme used? infact the comp is set out so any vehicle can have ago as I have put twice in the post your replying to.Time for eye test Chris!
May 25th, 2008 at 9:14 am
Well all we can do is see what happens on the day but mostly people just seem to go for the difficult sections or punches straight after doing all the easy ones and get into all sorts of trouble (which is part of the fun),as long as a marshal is there to advise, help, etc. Are you planning on having all trial sections open and marshaled all day? (assuming the special stages are trial sections).
Just had an eye test and the tart at the DRI said eyes were fine just full of mud!!
May 25th, 2008 at 9:34 am
Yes Chris All 3 trial sections will be marshalled all day.And these will be trials that any vehicle can have ago at and not get damaged. As you can appreciate we have tried to include yourself and other long standing members that have comp experience but just lately you have a lot on to say the least so we did not want to bother you too much with this comp.It would be great to see you compete with Callum.

Hey young Tackle you are right with what you’ve said as regards “a lot on”,
the last month or so has been a massive test what with Chloes cancer
returning, all the hospital stuff (including her op.), all the worries that
go with this sort of thing and changing my job at the same time,
which was a bonkers idea admittedly but that side of things has worked out ok I think.
The offroad side of things has had to take a back seat obviously but as most
of you know that buggy only needs a quick check over and it’s ready to rock
as usual, although the winch is still off the car and the simex’s are on Toyota rims. Will nobblies be accepted on the day?
One way or another we’ll be there.
Not seen the Buggy for over a month!, better go see if it’s still in there?
Cheers guys and thanks.

as you know what your doing and is just the thing your
buggy is crying out for so let it roar dude !!!!!!!

I agree with the gman.I got marshalls from people without vehicles and I only need a couple out on site Chris so to here that Chevy V8 in anger would be superb.

Yes you can.We have made the punches colour coded so you decide which you would like to attempt. We have even allowed for a standard class with it’s own trophy. But this comp is made to be fun. So please come and enjoy yourself.
