Although the whole weekend was brilliant there was an amount of damage which we as a club haven’t seen for a while or at least at the same event.
The ’Carnage’ wasn’t a last thing Sunday job either as it started within the first couple of hours of Saturday at the waterfall!
I’ve had a good go at listing all the damage and whether it’s fully accurate or not shouldn’t really matter as this just gives us an idea
of what broke!
John allsop kicked it off below the waterfall with an ‘S’ shaped track rod and then blew a front shaft trying to make an exit.
It was quite a job to get the TD5 back to the pits.
Dave and Liam both broke the same rear halfshaft at the same time and of course it was both of them that ripped the snorkle off??
John Smith also lost his snorkle at some stage whilst he also bent the winch bumper ends along with a wing and the rear of the tub.
Phil broke a front shaft quite early on which sadly would not come out even with Shrek pulling on it!!
Dolly and Barnsley (these were the names I was given) really did manage to turn a short wheelbase landy into a long one and also
found that trees are tougher than any Landrover.
John Stanley’s Suzuki broke a spring eye, lost a shocker, sheared the rear prop off and stoved the side in when it fell over.
Josh’s Disco broke a trackrod end completely off, had to be fixed in the hole in the woods.
Shrek had a rear shocker pull thro’ which then took a tyre valve off.
Jim’s Disco had no damage although Jim said his wallet was damaged!!
Chris’s Landcruiser (Me) nil damage, it’s a Toyota…..
Steve’s series II came away unscathed which was nice for the oldest truck there.
